WARC once again participated in the annual Wataga County emergency fest, held at Watauga high school on Saturday, May 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WA4J PARTICIPATES IN 2024 NC QSO PARTY!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Sunday, February 23, 2025, WARC participated (for the third time ever) in the North Carolina QSO party. A Group of enthusiastic Contesters assembled at the QTH of W4MW, and operated from 10 am till 8 pm. We used two stations in the Low-Power1 (100W) & Mixed (Cw\/SSB) mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operators included Rich – K1HE, Eric – NI4E, Roger – W4MW,, Corey – WB0RXQ and , Mark – K4CK, and Justin – KO4VOX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final results are in, and WARC finished in second place in the Bonus Club station category. The following paragraph from the NCQP Results webpage summarizes these results:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


“Bonus-Club: In celebration of the great community service exuded by our North Carolina amateur radio clubs, societies, and associations we made them the bonus this year.  They set up group stations and proudly put their club call into the ether.  There were 10 stations in all and they did a great job.  We put them in their own competition category and the first place plaque goes to Cape Fear Amateur Radio Society, K4MN, in Cumberland County.   Coming in second is the Watauga Amateur Radio Club, WA4J, making almost 900 QSOs.  Honorable mention goes to NI4BK at the North Carolina Battleship Memorial coming in third.  These three operations alone made just under 2,500 QSOs.  That alone is more than half of all the bonus QSO\u2019s made in total!  A job well done goes out to all<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
